Its no secret that im a fan of A.R. Rahman, well who isnt? So i am always eagerly waiting for his next album and given the recent hits in both Hindi and Tamil namely, Jaane Tu, Yuvraaj, Ghajani and Delhi 6 all of which had some interesting and foot thumping music including the Tamil Sakkarakatti and lets not forget the fantastic Oscar Award Winning Slumdog Millionaire tracks which brought home 2 Oscars for A.R. Rahman.

The strange thing about AR Rahman's music is that it sounds quiet different the first time you hear and you feel, why did he have to put so much twists and stops in the pronounciation and flow of the song trying to add some punches here and there and always trying to be different. If you havnt heard it, try hearing the masakalli song from Delhi 6 to know what I mean.  But once you hear it a couple of times, you think given the emotions of the song, there is no better way to emote the lines without those punches.

Well, I think thats what really awesome about that guy and more importantly we should give credit to the top lyrics writers who work with him to get that charm in the words in, which makes a huge difference, like the song Genda Phool from Delhi 6 sounded so strange and tangled up at first, but was so full of flow after a few listen and really stands out once you see it with the picturisation which brings the song alive. And there is always some fun jingles in the background to get you hoye hoye hoye for no reason. 

I guess now I understand why every singer swears by Rahman's ability to get the best out of them, coz im sure, they have never heard themself that way and didnt think they could sound that way or could modulate thier voice in a whole new dimension each time they sing for him. What do i mean by that, listen to Satrangi re from Dil se by Sonu Nigam and then the Rehnuma song here, you will get a picture of what im trying to say.

Given the fact that I have been listening to aweful songs and lyrics from B grade recent movies on my mp3 in the car for a while, Blue is refreshing and takes away all the blues of the past few weeks.

Rules to followwhen you are listening to an A.R. Rahman number, you should listen to it 3 times before you reject it.

3. Feel the music 

...and it will all add up to a level beyond the usual music and lyrics out there and you can hear the master's stroke in each one of the tracks.
